Unimec screw jacks star in a special application for a steel giant

Unimec products are used all over the world in the most diverse situations: a recent project saw our screw jacks play a key role within an application at the Linz (Austria) plant of a world-leading technological steel industry of about 500 companies in more than 50 countries.

The customer's need was to expand its already extensive production range by adding a new plant for cutting high-strength steel coils into strips, featuring a high level of technology and automation to control efficiency and performance.

For this application, we made more than 100 screw jacks of size 7010!

The configured system achieves excellent performance, can make 20 cuts working at a speed of 200 m/min on 4 mm thickness and 600 N/mm2 tensile strength or 10 cuts with 8 mm thickness of 800 N/mm2.
